ROBBERY ENDS IN ANTIPOLO SHOOTING; TWO MEN ARRESTED

ANTIPOLO CITY – A robbery incident that resulted in gunfire happened around 12:50 in the morning on February 6, 2026, in Cluster J, Cogeo Village, Barangay New Nayon, Antipolo City.

According to the police report, a man identified alias “Jay,” 28 years old, was allegedly caught in the act while inside a house taking about thirty (30) meters of 10-mm wire worth an estimated Php 5,550.00.

According to the investigation, the homeowner alias “Jimmy,” 73, a retired police officer, discovered the suspect’s presence inside his residence. The incident escalated into confrontation until the homeowner fired a gun, striking the suspect and causing a bullet wound to his body.

The suspect was immediately rushed to the nearest hospital and is currently under medical observation.

In the follow-up investigation conducted, two people involved were both arrested: the suspect in the Robbery case, and the homeowner in the Frustrated Homicide case, while authorities continue to learn about the legality of gun use and other incidents related to the incident.

A Remington Rand cal was recovered at the scene. . 45 pistols, one magazine, and three ammo bases. The arrest was conducted by the personnel of Annex 2, Antipolo Component City Police Station, led by Pat. Carlo Acosta and Pat. Jaybee Ero.

“We continue to remind the public to immediately inform police of any suspicious activity to prevent violence and maintain order in the community. The police will conduct fair and thorough investigations to ensure that the law is enforced to all those involved,".

Police investigations continue for relevant filing of cases against those involved.
