CONSOLACION POLICE ARREST SUSPECT FOR ILLEGAL FIREARM IN SEARCH WARRANT OPERATION
The Consolacion Municipal Police Station, under the Cebu Police Provincial Office, arrested a suspect for violation of Republic Act 10591 (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act) during the implementation of a search warrant on January 30, 2026, in Sitio Bagakay, Barangay Tayud, Consolacion, Cebu.
The suspect was identified only by the alias “Mykel,” and a resident of Sitio Bagakay, Barangay Tayud, Consolacion, Cebu.
The arrest resulted from the implementation of Search Warrant. The operation was led by the personnel of Consolacion MPS.
During the lawful search, police recovered and confiscated one (1) caliber .38 revolver with readable engraved markings, two (2) pieces of caliber .38 ammunition, and one (1) black sling bag used as a receptacle for the firearm.
The suspect was immediately arrested and informed of the nature of the offense and his constitutional rights in a language known to him. He is currently under temporary detention at the Consolacion MPS custodial facility while documentation is being completed for the filing of appropriate charges in court.
Cebu Police Provincial Director PCOL ABUBAKAR UDANG MANGELEN JR. commended the operating unit for the successful operation and emphasized the importance of intelligence-driven policing.
“This successful search warrant operation highlights the effectiveness of intelligence-led police work and our continuing efforts to remove loose firearms from the community. We remain firm in enforcing the law to ensure public safety,” PCOL Mangelen said.
CPPO reiterated its commitment to intensify operations against illegal firearms and called on the public to continue supporting law enforcement authorities by reporting suspicious activities in their communities.
