The Legacy of PNPA Oman-Silang Class of 2008

About us

Our Journey Begins: The "New Breed of Warriors"

Our journey as "Oman-Silang" – a Muslim term signifying a "new breed of warriors" – officially began on April 1, 2004, when 220 young aspirants took their oath to face the demanding challenges of cadetship. From a highly competitive pool of over 21,000 applicants, our class was meticulously selected, undergoing a unique and extended Cadet Orientation Program from April 1 to June 13, 2004 – making us the batch with the longest such program in PNPA history.

From Cadets to Leaders: Serving the Nation

On March 27, 2008, after years of unwavering dedication and sacrifice, 152 strong individuals of the Oman-Silang Class graduated, ready to assume their roles as commissioned officers in the Philippine National Police (PNP), Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), and Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP). As we embarked on our respective careers, then PNP Chief Director General Avelino Razon Jr. reminded us to uphold six priority points: prevent crime, protect human life, respect human rights, maintain the highest standards of integrity, pursue professional development, and maintain high visibility in communities. These principles continue to guide our actions and decisions to this day.

Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP): Responsible for the safekeeping of inmates in jails and the administration of jail facilities.

Bureau of Jail Management and Penology

Philippine National Police (PNP): The national police force responsible for law enforcement, crime prevention, and maintaining peace and order. Most PNPA graduates join the PNP.
